This Pacific Northwest chalet was a true diamond in the rough. Built in 1968, the home had a yellow exterior with outdated wooden stair-rails and an interior filled with bright blue carpet, reflecting a shabby-chic style from the 1990s. We set out to completely redesign the home, taking it down to the studs. The exterior was updated with a warm gray finish and white-painted railings for high-contrast on those drizzly PNW days. Inside, we installed reclaimed PNW pine flooring with a mix of medium and wide planks to enhance the cabin's rustic charm. 

One of the standout features of the transformation was the installation of 16-foot sliding glass doors, seamlessly connecting the interior to the breathtaking natural surroundings. We also were able to add over 400sq ft to the footprint of the home. The minimalist, mid-century modern furnishings ensured that the home’s natural surroundings remained the true focus, resulting in a perfect blend of rustic and contemporary design.
