Personal project exploring type as art. I designed a minimal pattern library and applied it to expressive letterforms.
Project details
A study in constraint. The pattern set is almost childlike: dots, lines, stripes, diamonds. The type is the opposite. Bold, fashion-forward, layered with texture and movement.
The limitation was the point. Same handful of elements, different compositions. Each poster uses the identical vocabulary but lands somewhere new. The patterns fill the letterforms, break outside them, stack into backgrounds.
Black and white only. No color to hide behind. The system had to hold on contrast and rhythm alone.
